Austin Nature Center,
site of
the memorial, is home to many rescued animals that will never be able to return
to the wild. Visit the animals and
learn their stories. Stroll around
the water habitat and listen to the waterfall.
There is a large grassy area near the approach trail where you can
eat your picnic lunch and toss the frisbee around.
There are miles of nature and hiking trails, with the trailhead in

Botanical Gardens, located
right next door to the Austin Nature Center, includes a variety of theme
gardens, including the world renown Tanaguchi Oriental Garden, with its

Barton
Springs Pool,
is a natural spring-fed swimming hole in the heart of Zilker Park. Open year
round, the water stays a constant temperature.
This is a beautiful setting for a refreshing swim, sunbathing, and

The Austin Zoo is located in south Austin and is an animal rescue
facility. Visit the big cats, bears,
primates, and many more, all of which were unwanted, neglected, or seized
